Spiritual Botany magazine is supported by the Gosling Foundation, a registered private Canadian Foundation.  Its interests include environmental education with particular emphasis in developing appreciation and awareness of nature to prompt its protection, and protection of ecologically significant land through a variety of means including acquisition.

The Foundation was established by Philip R. Gosling, a successful Guelph entrepreneur and lifelong promoter of appreciation, understanding and protection of the natural world.  It searches for, identifies and supports grant recipients whose goals and practices are consistent with the Foundation’s interests and guiding principles.

Furthering its support of the appreciation and protection of plant biodiversity, the Foundation prompted and provided support for the establishment of the Gosling Research Institute for Plant Preservation (GRIPP) in 2012.

GRIPP is based within the Plant Agriculture Department at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario (Canada) and aims to preserve threatened or endangered plant biodiversity through research, education, and service programs. Dr. Praveen Saxena, director of GRIPP created Spiritual Botany Magazine, in hopes of inciting individuals to envision, explore, and appreciate the role plants and plant-based practices play in connecting us to our environment, health, consciousness, and spirituality.
